Jean-François Janinet: L'Amour rendant Hommage à sa Mère

  • Jean François Janinet was a distinguished French engraver and printmaker who rose to prominence during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Janinet demonstrated exceptional talent in the art of engraving from a young age. After leaving the workshop of Louis Marin Bonnet in 1772, Janinet perfected a technique to produce full colour prints from multiple plates that made smoothly toned and richly coloured impressions. Janinet's work was characterized by its delicate lines, exquisite detail, and masterful use of color.
