Gilles Antoine Demarteau: Grande Pastorale No.601
After Gilles Demarteau’s death, his nephew Gilles Antoine added full-colour wash-manner prints to the atelier’s repertoire, using as many as six separate plates and a combination of etching, aquatint, and some roulette work. Our print demonstrates sophistication and brilliance of Gilles Antoine who managed to translate the colouristic richness of Huet’s watercolour into this splendid print.
